GiveMeTerms, operated at givemeterms.com ("GiveMeTerms," "we," "us"), is a B2B trade credit marketplace connecting business sellers, business buyers, and accredited investors. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash), and role (seller, buyer, or investor). Business information: legal business name, EIN, industry, and years in business, used for business identity verification (KYB). Financial account information: bank account details obtained through our verification providers when you connect a bank account. Investor accreditation information: verification status obtained from our accreditation verification provider (we receive the result, not your underlying financial documents). Invoice documents: invoices you upload for financing, which are analyzed for authenticity. Usage information: log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
We use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to connect and verify bank accounts. When you link an account, you provide your credentials directly to Plaid — GiveMeTerms never sees or stores your banking username or password. You grant GiveMeTerms and Plaid the right to access and transmit your financial account information as described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. We receive account ownership details (institution, account mask, account and routing information) solely to verify ownership and move funds you direct us to move.
To operate the marketplace: verifying business identity and bank ownership, scoring credit risk (our GMT Score), listing and funding invoices, moving funds via ACH at your direction, meeting our legal obligations (including securities-law and anti-money-laundering requirements), preventing fraud, and communicating with you about your account. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
We share information with the vendors that make the platform work, only as needed for their function: bank verification and payments (Plaid; Dwolla), business identity verification (Middesk), invoice document analysis (Ocrolus), investor accreditation verification (iCapital / Parallel Markets), and our hosting and database infrastructure (Vercel; Supabase). Each provider is bound by its own privacy and security obligations.
All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS); data is encrypted at rest by our infrastructure providers. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We retain account and transaction records as required for financial-services recordkeeping and applicable law, and delete or anonymize data when it is no longer required.
You may access and update account details in the app, disconnect a linked bank account, or request deletion of your account by contacting us (records we must keep by law are retained). Depending on your state, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information — contact us to exercise them.
